John Williams only came into folk music three years ago. Playing mandocello, John sings contemporary songs, including favourite Richard Shindell numbers.

Wirral Ukulele Orchestra
The 35 strong Wirral orchestra has an age range from 18 to almost 80. "We always find it puts a smile on people's faces" said Tom Baker, a senior member of the orchestra. Dedicated to squeezing some seriously goodtime music from this titchy Hawaiian instrument, they have played everywhere from church halls to St George's Hall. |

Gordon Morris
Together with Pete and Sandra Massey and Graham Morris, Gordon is one the "The Marrowbones" who have been performing at and running folk clubs for over forty years. Gordon specialises in maritime songs and has recorded a number of nautical poems written by Cecily Fox Smith which he has set to music. He has a spot at this festival so have a look out for it. Very interesting indeed. |

Tom Doughty - Zoe Mulford - Andy Anderson - Graham Bellinger
Four well known acoustic music performers from Cheshire and Manchester have pooled their talents to explore and celebrate roots music, improvisation and the art of playing by ear.
Zoe Mulford is an award-winning American songwriter who now lives in the UK and performs on both sides of the Atlantic. She started writing songs as a child and is still at it because nobody ever stopped her. She has recently produced her fourth album on Azalea City Recordings ‘Coyote Wings’. Andy Anderson plays with bluegrass band The Slippery Hill Boys and with the Jake Leg Jug Band. He teaches guitar and 5-string banjo. Self-taught from age 10, he honed his skills in the pubs and folk clubs of the 70’s. Tom Doughty is a performer and teacher of acoustic lap slide guitar and has performed across Europe and the USA. He plays music rooted in blues, folk, and Americana in a unique style. Graham Bellinger was a teenage music fan who tried to play the music he loved - ranging from blues, ragtime and country music to British traditional and modern songs. Fifty years later he’s still trying and performing solo and in several bands. |

The Poem Catchers
Gill McEvoy is an experienced and inspirational workshop leader and creative writing tutor. She runs The Poem Shed, the Golden Pear poetry reading group, and Zest! Open Floor Poetry nights at Alexander"s.
Judy Ugonna OBE runs a small poetry writing group called Poets a Hoy on the Wirral. She runs other community arts events and programmes including the Wirral Festival of Firsts and the Wirral Community Choir. In 2011 and 2012 Judy helped to run the Wirral Festival of Firsts Poetry Programme including the Festival's open poetry competition.

Rhythmweave Drummers
Rhythmweave run interactive, hands-on music-based events. They bring storytelling, singing, drumming and percussion workshops. Steve Hignett & Chris Bennett have a particular interest in the ways in which music (especially drumming) can enhance health and healing.
Drumming is easy to learn, lowers inhibition, raises energy and enthusiasm and increases productivity. It gets people actively participating and creates a lively, fun atmosphere!

They also give presentations on the history of flamenco as well as fun dance workshops and talks at schools, care homes and social groups.
